How to build your own metal detecting package
  1. Select a metal detector. The right metal detector depends on your experience and what you plan to hunt for.
    • Best for beginners: The best detector is a beginner-friendly, all-purpose model that is waterproof and is easy to understand. 
    • Best for gold: To specifically find gold, you'll want a detector with a higher frequency. 
    • Best for advanced users: Higher-end detectors often offer more advanced features and precision.  A multi-frequency machine that is waterproof for deeper submersions with a variety of hunting modes is best
  2. Add a pinpointer. A pinpointer is a small, handheld probe that helps you locate a target more precisely once you've dug a hole with your main detector. A pinpointer featuring an omnidirectional tip that offers adjustable sensitivity and Ferrous Tone ID to help distinguish junk from treasure is a plus
  3. Choose your digging tools. The best digging tool depends on your search location and the type of soil.
    • For dirt and turf: A serrated shovel or trowel works well for cutting through grass and soil.
    • For sand and water: A sand sifter or scoop is essential for beach detecting. Look for a durable stainless steel or aluminum scoop, which can be found at Texas Premium Detectors.
  4. Pick a finds pouch. A finds pouch is a convenient way to store your tools and hold your discoveries. The around the waist type is a popular option with multiple zippered compartments.
  5. Get headphones. High-quality headphones are essential for hearing the faintest signals. Many high-end detectors include wireless headphones, but if yours doesn't, consider a pair designed for metal detecting.

  2. Manufacturers stock coils or headphones cannot be change out. ( manufacturers policy)
  3. If a detector package includes free or bonus accessories from the manufacturer, these will be included and cannot be removed.
  4. Make a list of accessories you would like to add to your detector. ( coils, pinpointer, digging tools, accessories) If you do not see the item you need on our website from Minelab, Nokta, or XP put it on your list. We have a extensive inventory.
  5. Your custom detector package will be processed and a discounted price will be returned to you.
